D-375 in Anand Vihar is where Suvarn Cashewwala Private Limited calls home. Being in East Delhi, we are pretty close to some major transport hubs, which helps when we're moving bags of cashews around. It’s a straightforward business. We get the nuts, we make sure they’re good, and we send them out. There isn't any fancy tech involved, just a lot of manual checking and weighing. The building we’re in is quite old, but it’s sturdy and keeps the cashews dry, which is what matters most. We’ve got a small crew of workers who have been with us for a while now. We treat each other more like family than coworkers, which means there’s a lot of joking around during the day. Sometimes we have a little trouble with the local parking because the street is so narrow, but we’ve learned how to maneuver the small vans. We don't have any polished mission statements or big corporate goals. Our main goal is just to make sure the customers get what they paid for and that the cashews are crunchy. If a bag isn't up to mark, we just put it aside and don't sell it. It’s simple logic, really. We’ve stayed in Anand Vihar because the community is good to us and it feels like the right place to be. It’s hard work, especially when it’s humid, but we’re used to it by now and wouldn't have it any other way.
