Sail, Nmdc

This operation is mostly just Manoj Gupta and another person taking care of things for Sail, Nmdc. We do not have a big fancy office with a lobby or a receptionist. It is a small setup where we handle everything ourselves. Sometimes it is just the two of us sitting in a room trying to figure out the logistics for the week. Manoj has been doing this for a while and knows the ropes better than anyone. We do not really have a lot of formal structure here. If something needs to be done, one of us just grabs it and gets to work. It is a very direct way of doing things. We do not waste time with long meetings or fancy presentations because there is nobody to present them to. We just focus on the task at hand. It can be a bit quiet sometimes, especially when there is a lot of data to go through, but we usually have the radio on or just talk about what is happening in the news. Being a small team means we have to rely on each other a lot. We do not have a big HR department or a maintenance crew. If a lightbulb goes out, we are the ones who change it. It is a very honest way to work, and we like the fact that we know exactly what is going on with every single project we touch. We just keep things moving.
