S. K. Engineers

S. K. Engineers is tucked away at Hn. 830/58, right in Gali No. 1 of Shanti Nagar. This is a residential and small-scale work area, so it’s not like those huge factory zones you see in the city. The lane is a bit narrow, so getting large vehicles in can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes. We’ve been in this specific house-turned-workshop for quite some time. When you walk in, you’ll see lathes, some welding equipment, and piles of metal rods leaning against the walls. It’s an engineering shop, so it’s naturally a bit messy with oil and metal shavings on the ground. We don't have a front desk or a waiting room; if someone wants to talk to us, they just walk into the main workspace. The noise of grinding or drilling is pretty much the soundtrack of our day. We spend most of our time fixing parts or making small components that people bring in sketches for. Shanti Nagar is a familiar place to us, and we know most of the people living on the street. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on plastic chairs until it comes back on. It’s just honest, local work. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People find us by word of mouth or by just seeing the sign on the gate while walking through the Gali.
