Indian Society Of Lighting Engineers is based out of Delhi, specifically in the 110092 area. Being in the capital city means things are always moving fast around us. We don't have a big fancy storefront or anything like that. Our presence here is quite low-key, just a place where the people involved with the society can get together and handle the necessary tasks. Delhi is a huge place, and the 110092 zip code is just one small part of it, but it’s where we’ve set our roots. The office isn't anything you’d see in a magazine. It’s got regular chairs, some older computers, and a lot of files about lighting engineering and industry standards. We aren't here to impress anyone with a polished corporate image. We are just a group of people who work on things related to lighting engineering. The noise of the city is always there in the background, whether it’s the honking of cars or the general hum of people going about their business. We drink a lot of tea and spend a lot of time looking at technical documents. It’s not glamorous, but it is important work for us. We just keep our heads down and focus on what the society needs to do. It’s a very standard Delhi workspace—functional, a bit crowded with books, and always busy with something or other.
