We operate out of D-62 in Lane no. 2, right here in Laxmi Nagar. Being a chartered accountant in this part of Delhi means you’re always busy, especially when the tax deadlines start creeping up on the calendar. Kanhaiya Lal started this office years ago and we haven’t moved since. The lane is quite narrow, so parking can be a real headache for people visiting us, but they usually find a spot somewhere nearby. Our office is filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of keyboards. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and a few professional certificates. We spend our days helping people make sense of their bank statements and business records. It’s a lot of sitting and calculating, but we like the routine of it. We often have our tea brought in from the corner stall, and it’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation; we like being a local firm where we know our clients by name. Sometimes we make mistakes with the filing system and have to spend an hour looking for a specific folder, but we always find it in the end. It’s a very human way to run a business. We just keep our heads down and try to do a good job for the people who trust us with their numbers.
