We are tucked away at 414 Street Number 8 in Durga Puri Ext. It’s a bit of a climb to find us sometimes, but we’ve been handling taxes and accounts here in Delhi 110093 for a long time. As Ashok Aggarwal Associateschartered Accountants, we spend most of our hours looking at spreadsheets and stacks of paper. It’s a lot of calculating and double-checking numbers to make sure everything adds up right. The office is usually filled with files and the sound of calculators clicking away. We deal with the usual stuff like filing returns, looking at balances, and helping people understand what the tax laws actually mean for their small shops or homes. It’s not the most exciting job for some, but it’s what we do. The neighborhood in Durga Puri is lived-in and busy, which keeps us grounded. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. Just some desks, a few good computers, and plenty of pens that always seem to go missing. Most of our day is spent making sure the rows and columns match up perfectly. People come in with their bags of receipts and we sit down and go through them one by one. It takes time, but it has to be done properly. We’re just local accountants trying to keep the books straight for the people who come through our door on Street Number 8. We try to keep the tea hot and the numbers accurate while the traffic honks outside.
