M S B K Gupta Associates has been around since January 2009, which is quite a stretch. We’ve stayed in the same spot at 174 Hargobind Enclave, right off Vikas Marg Extension in Delhi 110092. It’s been well over a decade now since we first opened our doors. When we started, it was just a small room with one desk and a very slow computer. Now we have a bit more space, but we still try to keep things grounded. We mostly do work related to taxes, audits, and general consulting for people in the neighborhood and some businesses further out in the city. Delhi is a fast-paced place, and the rules seem to change every other week, so we spend a lot of time reading through new notifications and updates. It’s not the most exciting work for everyone, but we find it satisfying to get the numbers to balance. The office usually has a few piles of files waiting to be processed. We aren't the type to wear expensive suits every day; we’re just regular people who happen to be good with paperwork. Clients usually call us when they’re stressed about a deadline, so we spend a lot of time calming people down and explaining things in plain English. We’ve been in this enclave for a long time, so we know the local shops and the people around here. It’s a steady job. We show up, drink our tea, and get things done.
