You can find us at 94 H, Pocket Iv in Mayur Vihar Phase I. This part of New Delhi is a bit more settled, but it still has its own kind of noise. Kumar Chopra Associates operates out of this unit, and it’s a pretty functional space. We don’t have a massive glass building or anything like that. It’s just an office in a residential pocket, which makes it feel a bit more like home than a cold corporate building. We have a lot of files, as you might expect, and they are mostly kept in boxes stacked along the wall. The air conditioner makes a bit of a humming sound, but it keeps the place cool during the Delhi summers. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background, just some local stations to keep the silence away. There are four of us who work here regularly. We know the local chai stall and the guy who delivers the mail very well. Most of our day is spent looking at screens and talking to people who need help with their paperwork. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s steady. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, and we all just sit there and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just the reality of working in this part of town. We don’t try to be something we aren't; we just provide a place where work gets done. The furniture is a bit old, but everything serves its purpose well enough. It's a simple, quiet routine that we've followed for many years now.
