Indian Speech & Hearing Clinic

You can find the Indian Speech & Hearing Clinic down in the basement of B-36 in Gurunanak Pura. It’s right there in Laxmi Nagar, which is usually quite a crowded and noisy part of town, which is a bit ironic given what we do. We help people with their hearing and how they speak. The basement stays a bit cooler than the street level, which is nice during the summer. It’s not a huge place, just a few rooms where we do our testing and talk to parents or older folks who are having a hard time hearing. We have some equipment for testing ears, and we spend a lot of time just sitting and listening to people. Laxmi Nagar is always buzzing, so when patients come in, it’s like a little quiet escape for them. We’ve been in this basement for a while, and most of the neighbors know us. We aren't doing any big fancy marketing; most people just hear about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup with some chairs in the waiting area and a few posters on the wall about speech patterns. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit, but we get the job done. We just want to help folks communicate better. It’s a good feeling when someone finally hears clearly or a kid says their first clear word. That’s why we’re here in Gurunanak Pura every day, just doing our bit for the local community.
