We’ve been running things from our spot in Pandav Nagar for a while now. Dealing with waste in a city like Delhi isn't exactly glamorous work, but it’s what we do every single day. Most mornings start early here in Mayur Vihar Phase One, getting the trucks ready and making sure the crews know where they're headed. It’s a lot of coordination with the urban services side of things, making sure the trash actually gets picked up and moved where it’s supposed to go. Our office at P 62 5 is pretty basic, just some desks and a lot of logbooks to keep track of everything. You’ll usually find someone here arguing over a schedule or trying to fix a logistics problem. It’s noisy and busy, much like the rest of the neighborhood. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. People just drop in when they need to talk about a pickup or a service issue. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets bad or the traffic in Delhi slows everything down to a crawl. We just try to keep the streets a bit cleaner than they were yesterday. It’s not a perfect system, but we’re out there doing the actual labor involved in keeping an urban area functioning. Most of us have lived around here for years, so we know the local streets and the problems people face with their rubbish.
