You’ll find us at Flat 60 in the Maitri Apartments over in Mayur Vihar Phase I. It’s a residential complex, so the atmosphere is pretty laid back compared to a high-street location. Walking through the apartment gates, you see kids playing or people walking their dogs before you actually get to our door. The office itself is just a converted apartment space, which makes it feel a bit informal and less stiff. We’ve got desks set up where a dining table probably used to be. The kitchen area is mostly just for making tea and storing old files now. It’s a bit of a maze with all the boxes of records we have to keep organized. The light in Delhi is harsh, but we have some thick curtains to keep the glare off the monitors during the day. We get a lot of retirees from the building coming in to check their balances or just to say hello and see how we are doing. It makes the workday feel a bit more personal than other places. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it is just a delivery for one of the neighbors by mistake. It’s a small, lived-in space where the floorboards creak a little when you walk around the back office. We aren't trying to impress anyone with decor; we just have what we need to get the paperwork processed. It’s a practical little spot in a busy part of East Delhi.
