Down in New Ashok Nagar, space is always a bit tight. Our office is at A 519 and it’s right in the middle of the local hustle. You can hear the sounds of the street and the Metro from here. It’s a busy part of Delhi, and our Hdfc Standard Life branch reflects that. We have people coming in all day long. Some are confused about their paperwork, and others just want to pay their premiums. The office is a bit crowded with cabinets because we have so many files to store. We try to keep things as tidy as we can, but it’s hard when there’s so much going on. Most of us take the Metro to get to work because parking around New Ashok Nagar is a nightmare. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a five-minute break. We don't have any big corporate slogans on the walls. It’s just a place where we work. The computers are a bit old, but they work well enough for what we need. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting across from people explaining the different forms. It’s a very human place. We see people from all walks of life. We just try to help them get their insurance sorted out without too much trouble or delay. We make sure the lights are off before we head out into the busy street.
