Our office is located at I 149 B in Lalita Park, over in the Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi. If you’ve ever been to Lalita Park, you know it’s a packed neighborhood with narrow streets and lots of activity. We’re tucked away in one of those buildings. We focus on helping people find employment. It’s a lot of face-to-face interaction, which means our small space is usually full of people. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. There are always tea cups sitting on the tables and the printer is usually humming in the background. Laxmi Nagar is a place where everyone is trying to make something of themselves, and we’re right there in the middle of it. We deal with all kinds of job seekers, from students to older folks. It gets a bit chaotic on Monday mornings when everyone shows up at once. We don't promise anything we can't do; we just look at what's available and see if it fits. The walls have a few old calendars and posters on them, and the filing cabinets are definitely overstuffed. It’s a real, working office where things aren't always perfect. Laxmi Nagar has a way of being noisy all the time, even late in the evening. We keep the door open mostly to get a breeze, even if it means we hear every rickshaw horn. We've got a small fridge that makes a weird humming sound.
