Doing Own Business

I run things out of A 303 in Paradise Apartments. This is over in IP Extn, which is a pretty well-known residential area in Delhi. Moving the business into an apartment was a choice made for convenience. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads, though you still hear the usual Delhi sounds of horns and street vendors. The office is really just one of the rooms converted into a workspace. It has a view of the other blocks and the little bit of greenery we have in the complex. I’ve been doing this for a while now, after leaving a more traditional job. There’s no big team here, just me and occasionally a part-time helper if things get really backed up. It’s a very personal way to work. I don't have to deal with a commute, which is a big plus in this city. My setup is simple—a computer, a printer, and a lot of notebooks. I try to keep things organized, but on busy weeks, the desk usually disappears under a pile of papers. Neighbors know I work from here, so sometimes they drop by for a chat. It’s a small-scale operation, and I like it that way. No big overheads or fancy boardrooms. It’s just a real person in a real apartment trying to make a living and keep the business moving forward without making it complicated.
