Chashma Mahal

If you look for us in Lakshmi Nagar 118, you’ll find Chashma Mahal right in the middle of Guru Ramdas Nagar. We are in the Main Bazar, quite close to the SBI Bank, so it’s easy to spot if you’re out doing your daily banking or shopping. It’s a busy area, lots of people walking past every day and the sound of rickshaws is constant. We’ve been here for years, just helping local people with their glasses and frames. The shop isn't huge, but we have enough space to show what we have on the shelves. It gets a bit dusty with all the traffic outside, especially in the summer, but we try to keep the glass cases as clean as possible. Usually, it's just a couple of us here. One person might be helping a customer try on different frames while the other is checking some paperwork or talking to a supplier on the phone. We see all sorts of people coming in from the neighborhood. Some families have been coming to us since they were kids, and now they bring their own children. It’s nice to see those familiar faces. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy to get attention. Just a regular shop where you can get your eyes checked or pick out some new spectacles. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break in the back. It's a simple life running a shop in a market like this.
