Amar Engineers

Our workshop is located over at 13/126 in the Vishvakarma Estate. If you know Bapunagar, you know it’s a place where things are always being built or fixed. We’re right opposite Radhunath School, so we hear the bell ring every day and see the kids heading home while we’re still mid-job. Amar Engineers is basically a place filled with the sound of metal hitting metal and machines humming. We do a lot of fabrication and repair work here. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It’s a small team of us, mostly local guys who have been working with tools since they were young. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. If you need someone, you usually have to walk past the lathes and find us in the back. The estate is always dusty and there's usually a truck blocking the lane, but we make it work. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. We handle a lot of different projects for people around here, mostly stuff that requires a steady hand and some heavy machinery. It’s noisy and dirty work, but it’s what we know how to do. When the school lets out, the whole street fills up with noise and energy, which is a nice change from the sound of our grinders.
