Pasupati Bricks Works

Our place is out in Motihari, right in the village area near the post office. We’ve been running Pasupati Bricks Works from this spot for a long time. It’s handy being near the Marwar Mundwa Railway Station because you can hear the trains passing by quite often. It helps us keep time in a way. The yard is usually full of bricks in different stages. Some are drying out, some are ready to go. We deal with the red clay and the heat from the kilns all day long. In Motihari, everyone knows everyone, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming through. The work is hard and dirty, but it keeps us busy. We don’t have a big office or anything like that. Just the open space where we make the bricks and the small area near the entrance. Sometimes the dust from the station blows over, but we don’t mind it much. The tehsil is a quiet enough place except for when the deliveries are moving out. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The village life suits us just fine. You find Pasupati Bricks Works if you just follow the road towards the station. It’s not hard to spot the stacks from a distance. We’ve been at this for years and the routine doesn't change much. Just making bricks and making sure they’re piled up right near the post office.
