Gainwell Cat

Our place is out in Jhajra, Faridpur, in the West Burdwan district. If you know the area, it's pretty quiet but we stay busy with the machines. We deal with Cat equipment mostly. It’s heavy work, and the yard is usually full of yellow machines that need some attention. The dust gets everywhere, especially during the dry season, which can be a bit of a pain. We’ve got a group of guys who have been working on these engines for years. They know the sounds of a struggling motor better than anything else. It’s not a shiny corporate office, just a practical workshop where we get things moving again. People from all over the district come here when their loaders or dozers break down. We keep a lot of parts on the shelves because nobody wants to wait weeks for a bolt or a filter. Sometimes the weather makes things tough, but the work doesn't stop. We spend our days mostly covered in oil and dirt, making sure the equipment is ready for the next job. It's a long way from the big cities, but there's plenty of work to do around here. We just take things one day at a time, fixing what’s broken and helping out the local operators. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. That’s life here in Jhajra for us, just keeping things running as best we can.
