Das & Sons is based out in Rabindrapally, right near the Shyampur SBI branch in Burdwan. Having the bank as a landmark makes it a lot easier for people to find us since the streets here can be a bit confusing if you aren't from around here. We’ve been in this community for a long time, and everyone knows us. It’s a family business that’s been passed down, so there’s a lot of history in these walls. The building itself is older, and we’ve had to fix the roof a few times after the heavy rains. We mostly deal with local supplies and whatever the neighbors need for their projects. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but we stay busy enough. There is always someone dropping by for a chat or to ask about a price. We don't really have a set routine; we just open up early and see what the day brings. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a bit of a nuisance, but we just wait it out. My sons help me with the heavy lifting and the accounts. We try to keep things simple and honest. There’s no big corporate strategy here, just us trying to make a living and helping out the folks in Burdwan. It’s a tight-knit area, and we value the relationships we’ve built over the decades. The shop is usually a bit cluttered with boxes, but we know where everything is.
