Amit Sen

I am Amit Sen. You can find me on the 4th floor of Ispat Bhawan. This is the BSP building in Bhilai. It’s a big place, very well known in this part of the country. Being on the 4th floor gives me a bit of a view of the surroundings if I look out the window. The whole area is 490001. It’s a busy building. Lots of people coming and going all the time. Working in Ispat Bhawan feels different than a small street shop. There’s a lot of movement in the hallways. I’ve been here for a good while now. My desk is usually covered in things I need to look at. I take the lift up every morning. Sometimes it's crowded and you have to wait. The building has that old government or big industry feel to it. It’s sturdy. I don't really have a fancy setup. Just a chair and a desk and my work. Bhilai is built around the steel plant, so being here feels like being at the heart of things. I see my colleagues in the hallways. We talk about the work or the heat or the latest news. It’s not a flashy life. It’s about getting through the tasks assigned to me. The 4th floor is where I spend most of my daylight hours. When I leave, the sun is usually starting to go down. It’s a routine I’ve grown to like over the years. It’s solid. I don't need much more than that. Just a steady place.
