Saffron Computer & Gift Shop

We have been running Saffron Computer & Gift Shop here at Mahalaxmi Chowk in Nai Abadi for quite a while now. It’s a bit of a strange mix, having electronics right next to gift items, but it seems to work out for the people around here. Most mornings start with unlocking the shutters and trying to get the dust off the display cases because the road outside stays pretty busy all day. My cousin handles most of the computer repairs in the back while I stay up front to help anyone looking for a birthday present or maybe a new mouse for their laptop. The shelves are usually pretty full, maybe too full sometimes. We’ve got everything from small toys to pen drives and speakers. It gets a little crowded when more than three people are inside at once, but nobody seems to mind much. Being in Nai Abadi means we see the same faces every week. Someone might drop in just to ask about the time or the weather. We keep a small stool by the counter for older folks to sit if they’re waiting on a repair. It isn't a big corporate setup with uniforms or anything like that. Just a local shop where things move at their own pace. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside until it comes back on. That's just how life is here at Mahalaxmi Chowk. We try to keep enough stock so people don't have to go all the way to the main city market. It’s a simple life.
