We are located in the village of Chandala, which is part of the Garbada taluka in Dahod. If you are looking for us, we are at Bamaniya Manubhai Chenabhai’s place. Being out here in a rural area means things move at a different pace than the big cities. Most of us here are kheduts, or farmers, and this company was started to help everyone in the village get a bit of help with their produce. The office is really just a simple room where we keep our records and meet up to talk. You can see the fields right from the doorway. We deal with a lot of maize and other local crops that grow well in this soil. Some days the roads are muddy and it is hard to get the trucks through, but we manage. We don’t have a big staff or fancy computers, just a few people who know the land and the people living on it. There is always someone coming by to ask about seeds or to talk about the latest weather forecast. We try to help out where we can because everyone in Garbada knows how tough the seasons can be. It is a community effort more than anything else. We focus on the daily tasks like checking the quality of the grain and making sure the storage is dry. It is honest work and we are just trying to make a living like everyone else in Dahod.
