Suhaib Cements & Steel Store

Up here in Village Ghat in the Doda district, you will find Suhaib Cements & Steel Store. We are located right opposite the J & K Bank, which is a pretty easy landmark for everyone in the tehsil to find. Being in a place like Doda means we have to be prepared for the weather and how it affects the transport of heavy things like cement and steel. Our store is just a simple building where we keep the supplies dry and safe. People from the village and the surrounding areas come to us when they are building their homes or doing some repairs on their property. It’s a small operation, mostly run by family and maybe a helper or two when things get really busy. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It is just stacks of cement bags and piles of steel rods. Sometimes when the bank across the street is busy, the road gets a bit narrow with all the people, but it’s a friendly enough atmosphere. We spend our days loading up trucks or helping people figure out how much material they need for their small projects. It’s honest work, and we’ve been part of the community here in Ghat for quite a while. We know our neighbors and they know where to find us when they need construction materials. It's a simple way to make a living, and we just keep at it, regardless of the season or the cold mountain air.
