R.C.Primary School

Out in the village of Kannivadi, you will find R.C.Primary School. It is a small place for the younger children from around this part of Dindigul. The building is just a simple one-story structure with a few rooms. We have the primary classes where kids learn to read and write. The floors are made of stone and we keep them as clean as we can. There is a small porch at the front where children sometimes sit during their break time. We don't have a big fancy playground, just the open ground around the building where they run about. There are some big trees nearby that keep the place a bit cooler when the sun is out. Dindigul can get quite dry. The teachers are mostly local people who know the families in Kannivadi. We keep the student records in old metal cupboards in the corner of the main room. Every morning we have a small assembly outside. The kids bring their bags and water bottles. We have a basic setup with some maps and alphabets pasted on the walls. It’s a quiet place for the most part. We just focus on the daily lessons. Parents come by to talk to the head teacher if they have any concerns. It is just a regular village school providing a space for the local kids to start their education. The school gate is simple metal and we lock it when the day is done to keep the place secure.
