Gurumurugan Agencies & Hardware

Our shop is located at 457, Iyyapalayam Main Road in Sithayankottai. We are right near Nagalakshmi School, so we see a lot of activity when the kids are coming and going. We handle hardware and all sorts of agencies for different products. The shop is filled with everything from plumbing pipes to boxes of screws and bags of lime. It is quite a lot to keep track of, and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We have to use a ladder for almost everything. Most of our customers are folks from the neighborhood who are fixing something at home or building a small addition. We spend a lot of time giving advice on which tool is best for a job or how to fix a leaky pipe. We do not have any polished sales pitches. We just tell people what we know from our own experience. It is often quite dusty in here because of the cement and other building materials. We have been running this shop for a long time and have become a bit of a fixture on Iyyapalayam Main Road. The morning is usually our busiest time when the contractors stop by to pick up supplies for the day. We just keep things simple and try to have what people need in stock. It is a busy life but it is a good one.
