Rural University

This place, known as Rural University or The Gandhigram Rural Institute, is situated right in Gandhi Gram. It’s a bit different from the big city schools you see in movies. We are more connected to the land and the people living around here. It started with a specific idea about helping rural areas grow, and we’ve stuck with that ever since. The campus isn't just buildings; it feels like a part of the village. We have students coming from all over, and they bring a lot of life to the place. There’s always someone walking around or sitting under a tree studying. It’s not always perfectly quiet, as there's always some project or community meeting happening. We don't have those massive glass skyscrapers. Instead, we have practical spaces where people learn skills they can actually use in their own towns. The staff here are mostly local folks or people who moved here because they like the pace of life. We deal with a lot of paperwork, just like any school, but we also spend time outdoors. It’s a grounded way of doing education. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just focus on the people who come here to learn and the community we’re a part of. It’s been this way for a long time and we don't see that changing. Sometimes the peacocks even wander onto the paths during the quiet hours.
