Thuwuni Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Suruhuto in Zunheboto district. We operate right out of a space near the medical colony, specifically at 230A Medical. It’s a quiet place most of the time, except when the harvest comes in and everyone is moving sacks around. We aren't a big corporation from the city. We are just a group of people from around here who know the soil well. Atovi’s place is where we usually meet up to discuss what needs to be done next. The weather here can be a bit unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time watching the clouds and hoping for the right amount of rain for our crops. We don't have those fancy brochures or a website that looks like it cost a lot of money. We just have our produce and the work we put in every single day from morning till the sun goes down. Most of our members have been farming since they were kids, learning from their parents. Now we are trying to do things a bit more organized as a company, but the work is still the same old hard labor. We deal with all sorts of local produce that grows well in these hills. It’s a lot of back-and-forth between the fields and the collection point. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our farmers get a fair deal for the hard work they do in the sun. It is a slow process but we are patient.
