Taaier Earthbound Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our little group is called Taaier Earthbound Farmer Producer Company Limited and we operate out of New Colony in Chumukedima. Sakutemjen Aier is the one who handles the mail and the main office work from his place there. Dimapur can be a busy place compared to the hills, but out in Chumukedima, things feel a bit more settled for us farmers. We named it Earthbound because that’s where we spend all our time, down in the dirt. It’s not an easy job and nobody here is getting rich fast, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't have a big team of experts. It’s just local people from the colony and nearby areas who want to keep the farming traditions going while trying to find better ways to sell. Sometimes the weather doesn't help, or the market prices are all over the place. We just try to stick together and see what works. We aren't big on slogans or fancy brochures. If you walked into our space, you’d probably just see some sacks and some tired people. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just a local effort to keep things moving forward in our own small way. Most days are just about the work and making sure we can get back out there tomorrow. We don't really have any other way to do it, and that is just fine with us.
