Music Channel Nagaland

We’ve been here at No-5 Bank Colony for a while now. Most people know the spot because it’s right on Kohima Road, just opposite Hotel Saramati. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic, but inside it’s mostly just us and the instruments. We started this because there wasn't really a place nearby where you could just walk in and find what you needed for a local gig or a church service. Nagaland has so much music going on, so we figured we should have a space for it. It’s not a fancy showroom. We have some guitars hanging on the walls and some cables tangled in drawers. Sometimes the lights flicker when the rain gets heavy, but we keep the doors open. People drop by just to talk about new tracks or to see if we’ve got any new strings in stock. It’s a bit cramped with all the speakers and boxes piled up, but it works for us. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know our way around a soundboard. You might find some dust on the shelves if we haven't cleaned in a couple of days. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the local guys have a place to get their gear without having to travel too far out of town. It’s just a regular shop in a busy part of Kohima.
