St Johns Polytechnic College

St Johns Polytechnic College is based over in Gopankoppa, Hubli. If you’re familiar with the Keshawapur side of town, you probably know the way to our gate. We have a lot of practical labs here because that’s the whole point of a polytechnic. There is usually a bit of grease on the floor in the workshop and the sound of machines running throughout the morning. It’s a hands-on kind of place. You won’t find people wearing suits or talking in corporate speak here. Most of the faculty members prefer wearing comfortable clothes because they’re often showing students how to fix something or use a tool. The building itself is sturdy but plain. We spend most of our budget on keeping the equipment working rather than painting the walls every year. During the breaks, the students crowd around the local tea stalls just outside the campus. Hubli gets dusty, and our windows always seem to need a wipe, but we don't mind too much. It’s a place for work. We focus on the syllabus and the practical exams. Some days are stressful when the power goes out or a machine breaks down, but we just manage it and move on. It’s a straightforward environment where people come to learn a trade and get their diploma. We’ve been part of this 580023 community for a long time and we like it that way. It's just a regular technical college doing its job every day.
