Manjunath Rice Co. is located at Plot No. 636/7 on P B Road. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Ulavi Basveshwar Temple. That makes it easy to find even when the traffic is heavy. The road outside is always busy with buses and lorries going past, so there is usually a bit of a rumble in the air. We spend most of our time moving heavy sacks of rice from the back to the front. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of dust from the grains. That is just part of the job. We have different varieties sitting in open bags so people can see what they are getting. It is not a quiet place, especially when the temple has a festival going on and the whole street fills up. We have been here for a long time, watching the shops around us change while we just keep doing what we do. Our desk is piled high with papers and the old calculator we use has buttons that stick sometimes. It gets hot in the afternoons, but the high ceiling helps a bit. We don't really do much advertising because people around P B Road already know where to find us. We just focus on getting the stock in and making sure the weights are right on the scale before anyone leaves. It is honest work and it keeps us on our feet all day.
