Luna General Engineering Works

Luna General Engineering Works is situated right opposite Basel Mission High School on P.B. Road. Being across from a school means we hear the bell ring several times a day and the sound of kids playing during their breaks. It is a stark contrast to the loud clanking of metal and the hum of our engineering machines inside the workshop. P.B. Road is a major route, so there is a constant stream of traffic passing by our front door. The floors in the shop are usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. We do general engineering jobs, which means every day brings something a little different depending on what people bring in. It’s a hot and greasy environment, but it’s what we are used to. We have a few old lathes and some welding equipment that have seen better days but still work just fine. There isn't a fancy reception area; customers usually just walk straight into the work area to talk to us. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It's just about fixing things and making parts that people need for their own businesses. The staff usually wears old overalls that are stained with grease. It’s a simple life of hard work and we’ve been part of this neighborhood for quite a long time now.
