Elmeca Works

If you go right behind the railway station, you'll find Elmeca Works. It’s a bit of an old building, but it serves us well. The sound of the trains passing by is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. You don’t even hear them after a while. We started out doing small repairs for the people living nearby, but eventually, we moved into more specialized mechanical work. The shop is filled with tools that have been here as long as I have. Some of them are a bit old-fashioned, but they still work better than the new stuff sometimes. We don't have a website or a social media page. We just have our door open. People come in with broken parts or drawings, and we see what we can do to help them out. It's often dusty and the lighting isn't the best, but we know every inch of the place. My cousin works here with me, and we usually have one or two helpers depending on the season. We aren't looking to expand into some massive corporation. We just like the work we do and the fact that we're right here in the heart of the town. Being near the station makes it easy for people to find us, even if they aren't from around here. We just keep the machines oiled and the floors as clean as an engineering shop can be. It’s been a good life so far and we don’t plan on changing much.
