Hegde Tours And Travels is based in the Mangala Complex at Sangam Circle in Dharwad. We are right beside Sangam Theatre, so on the days when a big movie is playing, the whole area gets incredibly crowded and loud. Our office is a small unit inside the complex where we keep the computers and the records. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside, but we make it work. We have some plastic chairs for customers and a big water dispenser in the corner. Most of our work involves coordinating with people who want to go on trips across the state. We spend a lot of time looking at schedules and talking to our drivers on their mobile phones. The atmosphere around Sangam Circle is always lively, and we usually go out to one of the nearby stalls for a quick snack in the evening. We don't have any fancy branding or a polished image. We are just a local travel shop in a busy shopping complex. The parking can be a real headache around here, but people usually find a spot behind the theater. We just keep the office open until late, making sure every car that was supposed to come back has actually arrived. It is a steady, rhythmic kind of job that keeps us connected to the pulse of the city.
