Deshpande Signages

At Deshpande Signages, we work out of Guri Priya in the Hosayellatur area of Shuvarpeth. It’s a local neighborhood where everyone kind of knows what everyone else is doing. Our workspace is part of the building here and it’s filled with tools, boards, and various signage materials. It’s not the neatest place you’ll ever see, but it works for us. We’ve been doing this for a while and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of Shuvarpeth. The mornings are usually spent sorting through orders and the afternoons are for the heavy lifting. We don’t have a team of people in suits. It’s just us getting our hands dirty and making sure the signs look right. Sometimes a neighbor will pop their head in to say hello or ask for a small favor. We like being part of the community like that. It’s a practical business. We don't have any grand statements to make about what we do. We just make signs because that’s the trade we know. Some days are long and the work is hard on the back, but we don’t complain much. We just keep at it until the job is done. The shop has a certain smell of materials and old wood that I’ve grown to like over time. We’re just a small local outfit trying to do a decent job every day. No more, no less. We stay right here in Hosayellatur and do our thing.
