Kidzee

Kidzee is located at No 237 on the Thirupathur Main Road in Jolarpettai. Being on the main road means we hear every truck and bus that goes by, especially in the mornings. It’s a busy part of Vellore, and we are right in the thick of it. The school is small but we’ve painted the inside with bright colors to make it look cheerful for the kids. Most of our day is spent helping toddlers with their basics. It’s a lot of messy painting and singing. We have some toys that are missing pieces and others that have been around since we opened. We don’t have a massive staff, just a few of us who have lived in Jolarpettai for years. We know the parents and we know which kids are going to be trouble during nap time. The front gate is always kept locked for safety, so parents have to ring the bell and wait. Sometimes the heat in Vellore gets to be too much, so we keep the fans on full blast all day. We aren't a corporate office, so things aren't always super organized. There are always a few stray crayons on the floor and some jackets left behind in the cubbies. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s a good kind of chaos. We just try to make sure everyone is safe and happy until their parents pick them up.
