You can find us at 5, L.R Manickkam Street, right in the Bharathipuram area. Himalaya Agri Export is basically a place where we handle agricultural products intended for other markets. The street gets pretty narrow when the delivery trucks come through, which can be a bit of a headache for the neighbors sometimes. We try to move fast. Inside, it’s mostly bags of produce and scales for weighing everything. The smell of grain or spices is usually in the air depending on the season. It's a family-style environment here. We don't wear suits or have big meetings. We just check the quality of what comes in from the farms and get it ready to go out again. Some days the paperwork is a mountain, and other days we are mostly in the back moving pallets around. It’s hard work and your back definitely feels it by Friday. We’ve been in this spot for a good while now. People know us around here as the agri folks. We just try to stay steady and keep the orders moving out on time. It’s not always perfect, sometimes a truck is late or a bag rips, but we just fix it and keep going. That is just how this business works. We like being part of the local scene here in Bharathipuram and seeing the seasons change based on what products are coming through our doors lately.
