Shakuntal Paan Bhandar

If you are walking down Durga Mandir Road in the Hirapur part of Dhanbad, you might see my shop. It’s called Shakuntal Paan Bhandar and we are on the ground floor. We are quite close to Madhav Apartment, which is a landmark most people around here recognize easily. I spend most of my time here at the shop, getting things ready for the day. It’s a small setup, just enough space for me to work and for customers to stand for a few minutes. Dealing with pan and other small items means you meet all kinds of people from the neighborhood. Some stay to talk about the weather or local news, while others are in a hurry to get back home. The ground floor location is good because it’s right on the street level where all the action is. Dhanbad is a busy town, and Hirapur always has something going on. We don't have a lot of help, usually it’s just me handling everything from morning to night. The shop isn't fancy, just a plain counter with the usual jars and supplies. It’s been our daily life for a long time now. We try to keep the place tidy, but with the road right there, dust always finds its way in. It’s just a normal part of running a small business in this part of town. We are just here, day in and day out, doing our work.
