Mama Pan Dukan

Mama Pan Dukan is located in Bartand, right near the Durga Mandir here in Dhanbad. It’s a small shop, mostly just a counter where I sit and make pan for whoever walks by. Being near the temple means we see a lot of people every day. Some people have been coming here for years for their favorite mix. We keep the leaves fresh and have all the usual fillings. It’s a simple setup. There’s no big sign or anything, just the shop. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty with the traffic, but we keep things as clean as we can. I’ve lived in Dhanbad my whole life so I know most of the faces around here. It’s not just pan, we have some other small items too that people ask for. The space is tight, but it works for what we do. On festival days, it gets really busy around the mandir and we barely have time to sit down. That’s when the whole area feels alive. We don't have a big team, it's just a family-run thing. We open up in the morning and stay late into the evening. People stop by on their way home from work. It’s a quiet life but I enjoy talking to the customers who stop for a minute. I've got a small radio that plays old songs in the background. It keeps me company when it's quiet. The wooden counter is a bit worn.
