Dessoi Valley Sugarcane Producer Company Limited

It is pretty quiet out here in Amguri, mostly just the sound of the wind through the tall stalks. We started this thing, Dessoi Valley Sugarcane Producer Company Limited, because there was a lot of cane growing around Dergaon but not much place for it to go. Tarun Pegu let us use his place as the main spot to handle the paperwork and meetings. It is just a regular house in Nabhangaps, nothing fancy at all. Most days involve walking the fields or talking to the other guys about how the harvest is looking this season. Sometimes the rains make it hard to move the trucks through the dirt paths, but that is just how life is in this part of the world. We have been working with sugarcane for a long time now, even before we officially became a company. It felt like the right move to get everyone together under one name so we could manage things a bit better. The work is heavy and your hands get rough, but seeing the juice press or the loads going out makes it worth it. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a small group of us trying to make the most of what grows in our soil. If you come by Tarun’s place, you will likely find someone drinking tea and discussing the price of cane. It’s a simple life, really, just focus on the crop and the weather.
