Down here on Mother Dairy Road in Shakarpur, things stay moving. Being at WA-87 means we see a lot of the local traffic every single day. We handle water supply for the families around here. It started out small and stayed that way, which suits us fine. The trucks come and go, and there is always someone asking when the next delivery is happening. We do not have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the cans are full and the orders get noted down right in the ledger. Sometimes the ledger gets a bit messy when we are in a hurry. The heat in the summer makes the job a lot harder, but that is when everyone needs us the most. We know the shortcuts around the neighborhood to avoid the worst jams. If a pump breaks, we spend the afternoon fixing it instead of sitting behind a desk. It is straightforward work. No one here wears a suit. We mostly wear old shirts that can get wet or dirty without it being a problem. The shop is not much to look at, just a place to store the gear and wait for the next call. We have seen the area change a lot over the years, but people still need water like they always did. We just keep doing what we do and try to get to every house on time. The routine stays the same month after month.
