Umachem

Our shop is at 1702/12 in Sri Nath Market, which is inside the famous Bhagirath Palace area. If you’ve ever been to this market, you know it is one of the busiest places in the city. There are people everywhere, and the narrow lanes are always full of goods being moved around. Umachem is right in the middle of all that action. We handle chemicals and related products. It is a very hands-on job because the market never stops moving. Our space is packed with stock, and we spend most of the day answering questions from people walking by or taking orders over the phone. It can get quite hot and noisy, but that is just part of being in Bhagirath Palace. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning in every corner. We have a counter, some stools, and a lot of boxes. It is a practical way to work. We know most of the other shop owners around here, and we all just try to get through the busy hours. Sometimes it takes a while to get a delivery vehicle close to the shop because of the crowds. We don't do much in the way of promotion. People usually find us because they are already in the market looking for what we have. It is an honest living and we have been doing it this way for years.
