Down at Okhla Industrial Estate Phase I 258, things move pretty fast. This is where Sify Technologies sits. It is an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving and people hauling crates. Inside, it is a bit different. We deal with a lot of data and networking stuff. The server room has its own hum that you eventually stop hearing after an hour. We have rows of desks and a lot of ethernet cables running along the floor. Sometimes someone trips on one, and we have to tape it back down. It is a practical space. We don't have posters on the walls or anything decorative. It is mostly whiteboards filled with scribbles and numbers that only a few people understand. The air conditioning is always cold because the machines need it. We drink a lot of coffee from the machine in the corner. It tastes okay if you put enough sugar in it. Dealing with tech means things break at the worst times, so we are often here on weekends. It is part of the job. The security guard at the gate knows us all by name. We have been in Okhla for years, and we know the shortcuts to avoid the worst traffic during the evening rush. It is just a straightforward place where we keep the internet and systems running for people.
