Shivji Electronic

Shivji Electronic is right in the middle of the Old Lajpat Rai Market at shop number 549. This market has so much history, and we’ve been part of it for a good while. Our shop is quite small, but we have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed with capacitors, resistors, and all sorts of electronic components. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a box of wires just to find a place to stand. We get a lot of hobbyists and repairmen coming in looking for that one specific part they can’t find anywhere else. Sometimes we spend the whole afternoon soldering something small or testing old circuits. The light in the shop isn't great, so we use a lot of desk lamps to see what we’re doing. Outside, the market is always buzzing with people looking for deals. It can get overwhelming with the noise and the crowds, but inside, we just focus on the electronics. We don’t really do any advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or by wandering through the narrow lanes. We’ve seen technology change from big vacuum tubes to tiny chips, and we try to keep a bit of everything in stock. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but it’s our space. We enjoy the challenge of finding a solution for a broken piece of gear that someone brought in from home.
