R. L. Gardner

We operate mostly out of the area near Kaishav Nagar. R. L. Gardner isn't a big corporation, just a few of us who spend our days outside in the dirt. We have a small shed where we keep all our tools and some of the plants we are working with. Most days start early before the sun gets too high, because working in the heat is tough. We handle a lot of the yards around here and some of the bigger plots on the edge of town. It’s physical work, digging and planting and trimming things back. My boots are usually covered in mud and my hands are rarely clean, but I don’t mind it. People stop by the shed sometimes to ask about what grows best in this soil. It’s been a bit of a dry season lately, so we’ve been spending more time on watering than anything else. We don’t have a website or a receptionist, so if you want to find us, you usually just have to catch us while we are out working. It’s a quiet way to make a living. The equipment is getting a bit old and sometimes the mower acts up, but we fix it and keep going. It’s nice to see things grow over the months. We keep a ledger of what we planted and when, but most of it is just in our heads. It’s honest work under the sky and we plan to stay right here.
