Quality Control Laboratories

Down in Anand Parbat, the area is always buzzing with some kind of industrial activity. Our lab is located at 408/4A in the upper part of the neighborhood. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't familiar with the narrow lanes and the way the numbers go. Inside, it’s a bit different from the dusty streets outside. We have to keep things fairly clean because of the testing we do. There are glass beakers, some scales, and various bits of equipment sitting on the benches. We aren't scientists in white lab coats from the movies; we are just regular people who know how to run these tests. Samples come in from different factories around Delhi, and we spend our hours checking things and writing down the numbers in our logs. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning recalibrating everything. It can be repetitive work, looking at the same types of materials day after day, but it’s what we do. The lighting in the back room is a little dim, so we usually work near the front where the windows are. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything. If someone comes by, they usually just stand by the main table while we finish up. Quality Control Laboratories is just a small, functional space in a very busy part of the city.
