Our place is on the first floor of Plot No 3575 on Netaji Subhash Marg. Being in Darya Ganj means there is always something happening outside. You can hear the traffic and the people shouting on the street all day long. We have the printing machines running most of the time, so it gets quite loud inside too. There’s usually a lot of paper stacked up everywhere. We handle publishing work and general printing for whoever needs it. It’s not a very big space, especially with all the equipment we have squeezed in there. Climbing the stairs every day keeps us active. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend more time looking at the print proofs than the décor. Sometimes people get lost looking for the plot number because Darya Ganj is so crowded, but once they find us, they usually stay for a cup of tea. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The smell of ink is something you just get used to after a week or so. It’s a busy environment and we don’t have much time for sitting around. We just focus on getting the books and papers out on time. The lighting is a bit dim in the back, but we have lamps over the main workstations to see what we are doing. It's just a normal workshop where we work hard and go home tired.
