Omco Electronics is tucked away in Shop No-664 inside the Old Lajpat Rai Market. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets, especially being so near the Red Fort. Our shop is small, like most in this market, but it’s packed from floor to ceiling with components, wires, and electronic parts. We’ve been in this spot for years, and it hasn't changed much. The walls are covered in drawers full of tiny screws, resistors, and capacitors. It’s a bit of a maze in here. Most of our customers are hobbyists or repairmen looking for that one specific part they can't find anywhere else. We don't have a glossy catalog or a sales pitch. You just tell us what you are looking for, and we dig it out from a box somewhere. The air is always thick with the smell of solder and old cardboard. It gets very loud outside with the tourists and the rickshaws, but inside we just focus on the parts. Sometimes we lose track of time talking to an old regular about a circuit board. We don't do fancy packaging. You get your parts in a small plastic bag or wrapped in newspaper. It’s a real old-school way of doing business, but in Lajpat Rai Market, that is the only way that makes sense. We are just here to supply the bits and pieces that keep other machines running.
