Our place is in the Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase II, specifically at A-31A. Being in an industrial zone means there is always the sound of machines and heavy trucks nearby. Newtronics India is a bit of a workshop and an office combined. We have some heavy workbenches and a lot of electrical testing equipment. The floor is concrete and has some marks from where we move the heavy stuff around. It’s not a quiet place. We are usually busy with some kind of assembly or checking parts that just arrived from the factory. The air smells a bit like metal and grease, which is normal for Mayapuri. We have a small cabin in the corner where we keep the computer and the files. It’s a bit cooler in there, but not by much. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Most of the staff has been with us for a long time, so we just get on with things without needing to talk much. We have a metal shutter that we roll up every day, and a small door for when the main one is closed. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch of work, and we just order some food from the local dhaba. It’s a busy life, and there’s always something that needs fixing or checking. We just keep the machines running and handle the orders as they come.
