Mundhra Chemicals is tucked away in Sector 15 of Rohini, specifically at G-10/128. If you know Delhi, you know how crowded these sectors can get. Our place is basically a hub for different containers and jugs filled with stuff that usually smells a bit like a science lab. It isn’t a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The floors are concrete and there’s always a fine layer of dust on the windows because of the construction nearby. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers or trying to coordinate with the delivery drivers who get stuck in the Rohini traffic. The office is small, just enough room for a couple of computers and a stack of ledgers that we still use because sometimes the digital stuff is too much of a headache. Most of the people working here have been around for years, so we don't really have to explain things to each other anymore. We just get on with the tasks. When summer hits, the fans just move the hot air around, but we manage. It’s a practical kind of life. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company in the world, we just want to get through the day's orders without any major spills or mix-ups. It’s a local operation, and we like the fact that we know our regular customers by their first names when they call.
